How often does the device track my vehicle?
The SpyTrack wireless tracking device gives you the option to set the frequency as to how often the data is being uploaded to the server. You can choose to have the device track your vehicles with data being uploaded every 6 seconds. Alternatively, you can choose to just simply receive a phone call or SMS from your device that notifies you when it has moved from its place. We are committed to providing you with the most accurate tracking data available. In the event of a storm or some other occurrence beyond our control, it’s possible that this will result in a poor GPS signal. In these circumstances, tracking frequency times may vary.
Can I install the device myself?
The device is conveniently wireless, which means that you will not have to pay someone to install it. The device is equipped with a very strong magnet that you can attach to any metal surface. Alternatively, you can merely leave it anywhere in the vehicle.
How much does it cost to use the device?
The device works off a Vodafone 4G sim card that is provided to you by SpyTrack. You can register this SIM card online and set it on a 365 day plan so that you wont have to recharge until either the end of year or once the credit has been used up.
Can I remove the sim card and insert my own sim card?
Yes you can. SpyTrack will provide you with a complimentary Vodafone sim card with $10 of credit, so you can use the device instantly. However, you are free to use any other active SIM card.
How much data would a prepaid sim card use to track?
Depending on how the device is used will determine how much data will be needed on the sim card. Each location that is uploaded will use approx 1kb of data.
How long does the battery last and how long does it take to recharge?
The battery can last up to 90 days in deep sleep mode, where it wakes up as soon as it senses movement in the vehicle. Daily tracking for fleet businesses consumes more battery life and will need to be recharged more often depending on usage. The device comes with a usb cable so you can conveniently recharge it at home or even in the selected vehicle you’re using.
Can I Spy and listen in to what is happening around the tracker?
The SpyTrack wireless GPS tracking device has a remote listening function. This enables you to ‘dial into’ the tracker using your mobile affording you the ability to listen in on the surrounding area, up to 7 meters away.
How do I locate my vehicle?
You can locate the device simply by sending an SMS text message to the SIM card that is in the device. You will instantly receive a message back with the exact location of where it is. You can also log-in on the dedicated app to monitor movement.
Which providers do you use?
SpyTrack uses only the best service providers. A Vodafone prepaid SIM with complimentary $40 credit is included with your initial purchase.
Can someone access the device via bluetooth or by hacking into it?
The device is 100% secure. The device’s history data is uploaded to the server and can only be accessed by the owner of the device. At the initial setup, you are required to provide a password in order to log in and use the tracking platform.
How is information stored?
Data is uploaded to the server and can also be saved directly onto an SD card.
Are their privacy laws I need to know regarding monitoring my trucks?
Privacy laws vary depending on the state in which you will be using it. We recommend that users refer to the privacy acts of their particular state.
Can I use the device in another country?
Yes you definitely can. The only thing required is a SIM card with credit and setting the device, using the instruction manual provided.
